Wait a second, who the HELL is Kate the copywriter?

Allow me to formally introduce myself, friend

I’m Kate, the founder of Eat Your Words; a brand strategy AND copywriting studio for unconventional creatives.

I had my own identity crisis whilst I was studying for my Marketing degree. To toot my own horn, I was really good at it but something was off. The course was constantly prepping us for this hotshot agency, the bro-marketing, soul-killing kind of marketing. And as a country-bumpkin whose parents own a small business, somehow it wasn’t floating my boat per se.

To drop out or not drop out? That was the question.

For the whole of my second year, I was facing the ultimate question. And it wasn’t until I was in complete inner conflict with myself that I realised; I can still do marketing and work with businesses I love, use and have ethical green flags. Those businesses are small (but mighty!) independents that when it all boils down to it just really care about the people they serve.

So, in my final year, I fired up Eat Your Words with a mission to help small brands feel more comfortable with the world of marketing. What does a website *actually* do for your business?

It’s a widely known fact that websites are a gateway to trustworthy, reputable and qualified businesses but as Instagram has become an echo chamber of internet gurus your website isn’t just important for your credibility, it also protects your peace.

Most of my business is from referrals/recommendations, do I even need a website?

If you feel ready for one, yes! Referrals are an amazing way to garner a client base but they don’t always last forever. A website is a great backup for when the referrals naturally dry out and you need to get out there again.

What if I’m not 100% sure about what or who my brand is?

Brand building is a deep, cathartic process! Firstly, we can discuss this in your Introductory Call and figure out your direction. We then do a whole module on brand strategy, messaging and tone of voice to really solidify your ideas.

Help! I’m dyslexic! Can I still purchase this offer?

You absolutely can. I have worked with many women who are dyslexic or struggle with written words and reading. Naturally, it will depend on the severity of your dyslexia but I will always do my best to accommodate.
